Alan Franco, Former International Player, Dies at Age 56
Alan Franco, a former professional baseball player from the United States, has passed away at age 56. Franco was known for his time with the New York Yankees and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987.
Franco began his career as a pitcher for the University of Southern California before being drafted by the Yankees in the first round of the 1972 MLB draft. He spent much of his career pitching for the Yankees, including two stints as their closer. In addition to his time with the Yankees, Franco also played for the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
